SUSIE SAMUEL MA VETMB MRCVS
Founder and Managing Director
Susie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2001 and has worked in both mixed and small animal practice. In 2006, she launched the website VetHelpDirect.com, which provides digital marketing solutions and social media services to veterinary practices. In 2014 she graduated from Squared Online, Google’s Certificate in Digital Marketing. Susie lives with her husband Paul, their three energetic children and Freddie their sleepy terrier.
General Manager and Co-Founder
Paul, with his Navy background, ensures Vet Help Direct runs as a tight ship. Paul takes charge of general operations as well as managing HR and Health and Safety.
SARAH SPINKS RVN A1 DIP.CW
Sarah is a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and since leaving practice has gained further qualifications in copywriting and social media marketing. She spent ten years in mixed private practice, eight as Head Nurse, before moving to New Zealand for work. This allowed Sarah to work with sick and injured penguins, so there was never a dull day! Since returning to the UK, she’s worked in the charity sector in an educational role, and now specialises in supporting vet practices with their online presence, focusing on new client acquisition, client retention and education. She’s married to Derek, and they live with their cat Tom and puppy Max, who’s undoubtedly the boss of the house!
Digital and PPC Specialist
Julie came to Vet Help Direct in 2009 as the first employee. Julie is our Facebook ads specialist and also collaborates with colleagues to create content for Facebook pages. Julie is married to Pete, and has 3 sons and 2 cats, Luna and Mico. She loves making things, baking cakes and singing with her rock band.
Customer Services Manager
Kim leads the Customer Services Department and has been at VetHelpDirect for 8 years. With 25 years experience in customer services, her dream as a child was to become a vet, but allergies prevented her from this chosen field!
Helpful and chatty by nature, Kim loves supporting veterinary practices by providing help and advice on how they can improve their online visibility through the VetHelpDirect reviews and Directory platform and vet marketing toolkit . Kim has two children, a mental but soppy Springer Spaniel called Charlie and her newest member of the family, a citrus Bearded Dragon called Peaches.
Senior Account Manager
Jenny has worked in the veterinary industry for over 20 years. Firstly veterinary nursing and then as head veterinary nurse at two busy vet surgeries on the south coast. Jenny then moved to veterinary pharmaceutical sales for 13 years firstly as a sales representative and then regional sales supervisor. Jenny is married to Mark and has two children and a home full of animals which include, Alfie the springer spaniel, two horses Dream and Smudge, Fish and Bluebell the tortoise.
Tracy is our Review Moderator who thoroughly enjoys her role and has loved developing it over the years. One of the nicest parts of her role (apart from working with a great team), is reading all the lovely comments which come through on a daily basis, these often put a smile on her face and set her up for the working day ahead! Outside of work Tracy lives with her Partner Andrew and their 4 children. Tracy enjoys spending time cooking and baking and generally socialising. They also share their home with a very vocal cat called Molly.
DAVID HARRIS BVSC PGCert VetEd FHEA MRCVS
David graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2005. He spent several years in equine and then small animal practice, developing a particular interest in pharmacology and anaesthetics. David developed his digital skills working at the MyVetMeds veterinary pharmacy and brings those skills to VetHelpDirect particularly in his work creating content for veterinary practices. He now splits his time between VetHelpDirect and teaching veterinary nurses and animal science students at Cornwall College. He has a broad interest in all matters veterinary and biological, and is our veterinary content and technical editor. He lives on Dartmoor surrounded by family dogs, sheep and horses!
Social Media Manager
Claire has had many years experience working in the veterinary industry at an independent veterinary practice as a Practice Manager on the south coast. During her time in practice, she has gained qualifications in Veterinary Nursing and Leadership & Management. She has also developed the necessary skills to write engaging veterinary content and manage successful social media accounts. She enjoys sharing this passion with veterinary practices to help them connect with and educate their clients via social media. Claire is married with 4 children, has a staffy called Storm and a cat called Spooks.
DANIEL HORTON BA (Hons)
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click Manager
Daniel is our Search Engine Optimisation & Pay Per Click Manager. After graduating from Plymouth University, Daniel started working in SEO & PPC and for the past 8 years has gone on to work in some of the most competitive industries around. This has allowed him to develop a very high level of technical expertise in all aspects of organic and paid marketing. In his spare time Daniel loves travelling, sailing and attempting to cook. He currently lives in Fareham with his beautiful tabby cat Maisey who he loves very much but has a sneaking suspicion is only staying with him for the food.

Sam has been working in veterinary practice since 2004, she qualified in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing Science and has 15 years experience as a qualified vet nurse. She has been a veterinary nurse in general practice, referral, emergency and critical care and charity practice and have experience of managing emergency clinics and a charity hospital. As Live Chat Manager she ensures that clients receive expert and professional interactions on the Live Chat Service we provide on behalf of practices. Sam has two dogs and four cats and one human puppy
ALAINA ROBERTS MCIM DipM
Alaina has 18 years SME marketing experience, many of those with Chartered Marketer Status. With a passion for learning Alaina studied Advertising and Marketing Communications at university, and also has post-graduate diplomas from CIM and IDM. As Marketing Manager, Alaina is responsible for building our reputation as a leading specialist digital marketing agency, helping to improve client experience and supporting the account management and sales team with business development. Alaina is married to Simon and has two children and a geriatric black cat called Rio.
SIRENA BROWN RVN BSc (Hons)
Sirena is an RVN having gained Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management qualifications in Ireland. She has 10 years experience working in the Veterinary industry as a Veterinary Nurse in Ireland as well as Nursing Manager and Practice Manager the UK. Sirena is now an Account Manager for VetHelpDirect looking after practices in both the UK and Ireland. Sirena lives with her partner, their daughter and adopted cat, Cooper, who thinks he's a dog!
